DUNE: PROPHECY is a rather interesting spinoff to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films. After all, it’s to those films what the Star Wars prequel trilogy was to the original trilogy. That is to say: it’s basically a prequel to those most recent and highly successful attempts to make Dune popular. In fact, it’s a prequel that focuses on where those mysterious (and creepy) Bene Gesserit ladies come from. All in a TV series that currently consists of a single season containing six episodes. However, that one season alone received some fairly high praise from critics. High enough that HBO has already ordered a second season that’s in the works as of this writing.
Alas, that second season is still a long ways away from its debut. Fortunately, we can still enjoy the first season of DUNE: PROPHECY on HBO Max. Wait, what’s that? You have no desire to pay for subscriptions just to watch this show? Well, don’t worry about that too. After all, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment will soon bring that first season to home video for you to own.
DUNE: PROPHECY: The Complete First Season ~ Home Video Details
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is proud to announce that they are bringing DUNE: PROPHECY: The Complete First Season to home video. In partnership with HBO and Legendary Entertainment, they will bring all six episodes of that first season to a format you can own both digitally and physically in the form of 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. Along with over an hour of bonus features spread out over 5 extended featurettes to boot. Plus, we also have a brand new featurette that’s apparently unique to this home video release, giving you all more reason to get it.
All physical versions of DUNE: PROPHECY: The Complete First Season will be available for purchase on May 13, 2025. You can preorder the physical copies (aside from the 4K UHD, which is currently absent) on online stores like Amazon. If you don’t wish to wait that long, then you do have the option to download it digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, YouTube, Fandango at Home, and more.
