Godzilla can now add another award to his resume. Yesterday during the 52nd Saturn Awards GODZILLA MINUS ONE took the Best International Film Award. Created by director, screenwriter, and & VFX visionary Takashi Yamazaki; this film also won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. You can read more about these achievements below.

Toho’s Godzilla Minus One Wins Best International Film at the Saturn Awards

GODZILLA MINUS ONE was awarded “Best International Film” for Japan at the 52nd Annual Saturn Awards yesterday.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE also received nominations for “Best Film Direction” (Takashi Yamazaki), “Best Film Screenwriting” (Takashi Yamazaki) and “Best Film Visual / Special Effects” (Masaki Takahashi, Tatsuiji Nojima, Kiyokk Shubuya, Takashi Yamazaki) at the awards.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE is the highest-grossing Japanese film in US box office history and the #3 top-grossing foreign film in US Box Office History, earning more than $115 million at the global box office. Winner of the Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects, GODZILLA MINUS ONE is the first film in Godzilla’s 70-year franchise history to be recognized by the Academy with a nomination or win.
