TERMINATOR ZERO looks to be one of the most promising entries in the Terminator franchise yet. Mostly because it’s the first Terminator anime series in existence. At least, it will be when it finally makes its streaming debut. Fortunately, Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass, Blood: The Last Vampire), Skydance Television, and Netflix Animation are working hard to make that happen.

Hard enough that you can tell that Netflix themselves are pretty hyped for this upcoming Terminator anime series. In fact, they’re so hyped for TERMINATOR ZERO that they’re releasing the first six minutes of the anime as a teaser. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out those first six minutes below? And see for yourself if this is the Terminator anime for you?

TERMINATOR ZERO: First Six Minutes Details

A very dark and bloody six minutes to boot.

Netflix Tudum has just revealed the first six minutes of TERMINATOR ZERO both on Netflix’s official website and on YouTube. Those six minutes reveal a very dark and violently bloody anime that perfectly meshes well with the original film by James Cameron and Gale Ann Hurd. Funnily enough, it’s almost completely free of dialogue too, being mostly grunts and gunfire. This clip stars Eiko (voiced by Sonoya Mizuno) and a titular minigun-armed T-800 Terminator (voiced by Timothy Olyphant) hunting each other in some kind of underground complex (seemingly a repurposed nuclear missile silo) in the postapocalyptic future of that setting’s 2022. It’s quite the action-packed sequence, and perfectly sets up the anime.

Fortunately, we won’t have long to wait to find out if the rest of the anime is as good as those first six minutes. TERMINATOR ZERO will make its streaming debut on August 29, 2024. Of course, this will be a Netflix exclusive. Thus, you will need a paid subscription to watch this anime. You can check out both the anime and subscription plans here.

Tune back in to THS to find out more about TERMINATOR ZERO and other Terminator and anime news when we hear about them.
