Nicholas Galitzine Cast As He-Man In Masters Of The Universe Film
He-Man has been found for a new adaptation of Masters of the Universe. Nicholas Galitzine, who just starred in The Idea Of You, has been cast as the star of Amazon MGM’s Masters of the Universe film from Travis Knight.
Knight will direct the film, which has a screenplay by Chris Butler. Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing.
The film centers on Prince Adam of Eternia, who becomes He-Man thanks to the Power Sword. That power gives him superpowers like strength and other abilities. He battles against the evil Skeletor, and his friends join him on adventures.
Masters of the Universe will be released in theaters on June 5th, 2026. That gives the film ample time for a lengthy shoot and post-production. Mattel’s toy line started in 1982 and became a pop culture juggernaut in 1983 with the animated series. It’s been a long time coming for a new Masters film. It might have traded hands between studios more than any other film; moving from Sony to Netflix and finally landing with Amazon MGM.
Who Is Nicholas Galitzine?
Galitzine has already carved out a nice relationship with Amazon on their films, including The Idea Of You, Red, White, & Royal Blue, and Cinderella. Here’s what Julie Rapaport, Head of Film Production and Development at Amazon MGM Studios had to say.

Mattel Flims is busy mining the rest of their IP and contemplating other shows and movies based on classic games and toys like American Girl, Hot Wheels, Bob the Builder, Magic 8 Ball, Matchbox, Major Matt Mason, Polly Pocket, Barney, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Thomas & Friends, UNO, View-Master, and Wishbone.
