We are one step closer to the end of the Tomorrowverse story arc with the release of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two. Starring Jensen Ackles, Darren Criss, Meg Donnelly, and Stana Katic; this animated film continues the trilogy that is based on DC’s ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. Thanks to our friends over at DC and Warner Bros. I was given a copy of this film to review.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – PART TWO

An endless army of SHADOW DEMONS bent on the destruction of all reality swarms over our world and all parallel Earths! The only thing opposing them is the mightiest team of metahumans ever assembled. But not even the combined power of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and all their fellow superheroes can slow down the onslaught of this invincible horde. What mysterious force is driving them? And how do the long-buried secrets of the Monitor and Supergirl threaten to crush our last defense?

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – PART TWO REVIEW

Based on DC’s ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez this second installment of the three-part failed to match the excitement and intrigue from PART ONE. So, if you were expecting the same ride you would be disappointed. JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – PART TWO slows down quite a bit and focuses on Supergirl’s relationship with the Monitor and the Psycho-Pirate’s origin story. While these parts of the film were good, they took some time to develop and some parts felt forced and rushed. With that being said, there was some action in this film that did live up to the hype.

With the Flash dead we get heroes from many different universes working together to make the energy wave that would end everything pass by Earth but some villains have a different plan. This also gives us some of the most intense action of the film as Anti-Monitor’s reign of terror grows by him sending shadow monsters to defeat the heroes in a brilliantly animated large-scale battle.

My Final Thoughts

JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – PART TWO is the calm before the storm. While it is not as good as the first installment, it tells a good story but lacks a lot of the action you expect from a DC animated film. I will also say if you expect this film to follow the comic book series closely you may also be a little disappointed. But, if you are a DC and Tomorrowverse fan, then JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – PART TWO is a must-watch for you. Oh yeah, and not to spoil too much we also get a tie back into Justice League: House of Mirrors with the reveal of the old man, and you can probably guess what we find out then.
