A huge horror franchise debuted an impressive prequel flick this year. And soon, you can watch it at home. The First Omen arrives on streaming this month and on physical media this summer.
Set in 1971, the film follows American nun-to-be Margaret as she prepares to take the veil in Rome. But she soon encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
The First Omen stars Nell Tiger Free (“Servant”), Tawfeek Barhom (“Mary Magdalene”), Sonia Braga (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), Ralph Ineson (“The Northman”), with Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”), and Bill Nighy (“Living”). The film, from director Arkasha Stevenson, serves as a prequel to the 1976 horror film The Omen.
For those looking to watch The First Omen at home, you can purchase the feature digitally starting May 28. Two days later on May 30, the film officially hits streaming. You can stream it on Hulu, along with the other features in The Omen franchise.
Finally, physical media collectors can get their copy of The First Omen on Blu-ray and DVD starting July 30. Look out for exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus features on these releases as well.
