Kevin Costner’s epic Western, Horizon: An American Saga, has released its first full trailer. Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 will both be released in 2024. With Chapter 1 hitting theaters on June 28, 2024. Chapter 2 will then be released a few months later on August 16, 2024. Horizon is a long time passion project for Costner, who co-wrote, directed and stars in the films. Starring alongside Coster is a star-studded cast including, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi, Jamie Campbell Bower, Luke Wilson, Thomas Haden Church, and Michael Rooker, among many others. The new trailer doesn’t share much about the plot, but showcases its cast and the films stunning landscapes. Keep reading for more details on the film and to also check out the trailer.



In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns, “Horizon: An American Saga” explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.



Horizon has been a multi-decade passion project for the acclaimed actor. Costner first commissioned the film back in 1988. In addition to the years spent, Costner has also invested at least $20 million dollars of his own money into the project. A fact that was revealed during the actor’s recent divorce proceedings. Horizon is envisioned as a four-part series by Costner. However, Chapters 3 and 4 have not yet been filmed. The 4-part film series, is also a key reason why the actor stepped away from Yellowstone.

Horizon is the fourth film directed by the actor, who has previously helmed Dances With WolvesOpen Range, and The Postman.
