Slayer “retired” from live shows back in 2019 with two final shows in Los Angeles. Now, it seems like the boys of thrash might have the itch to come back, as they’re confirmed for an exclusive Midwest show in Chicago this year. At Riot Fest 2024, Slayer will headline the festival for what is described as an exclusive Midwest performance. Here’s the post about the announcement from RiotFest.

You can get tickets for the festival right now at RiotFest.com.

It’s unknown who is actually part of this show, as Kerry King has started up his solo band, and had some comments about former band members recently. It looks like money might solve everything if it ends up being Kerry King, Tom Araya, and Co. for this performance.

In addition to Riot Fest Chicago, they’ll be making a headline appearance at Louder Than Life Festival on September 27th, 2024. You can get tickets for that festival here.

We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops.
