Today Marvel Studios confirmed the central cast for the highly-anticipated new adaptation of Fantastic Four.
As previously reported, Pedro Pascal will play Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards. He will be joined by Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman/Sue Storm and Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch/Johnny Storm. Rounding out the cast is The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing/Ben Grimm.
In addition to the casting announcement, Marvel revealed fans will have to wait a little longer for the film. Previously set for May 2025, it will now hit theaters July 25, 2025. (The film essentially switched places with Marvel’s Thunderbolts, which now arrives in May 2025.)
WandaVision director Matt Shakman will helm Fantastic Four.
Today’s official casting announcement confirms earlier rumors that Kirby, Moss-Bachrach, and Quinn will play central roles in the film.
Pascal is known for his roles on HBO’s The Last of Us and Disney’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian. His recent film credits include starring opposite Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and an appearance in the DCEU in Wonder Woman 1984.
Kirby starred in the Netflix hit The Crown as Princess Margaret. She received an Oscar nomination for her role in Pieces of a Woman, and appeared in the most recent Mission: Impossible film, Dead Reckoning Part One.
Quinn’s star power recently rocketed thanks to his standout performance in Netflix’s Stranger Things as Eddie Munson. He’s also slated to appear in the upcoming films A Quiet Place: Day One and Gladiator 2.
Moss-Bachrach is fresh off a recent Emmy win for his role on Hulu’s The Bear. His previous credits include the series Girls, The Punisher, and Andor.
