According to a report from Deadline, a prequel series to The Book of Eli is in the works. The series is being led by Gary Whitta, who was the writer of the original film. The prequel is set to star John Boyega, who will also serve as executive producer. The Book of Eli film debuted back in 2010 and was a box office success, earning $157 million worldwide. The film starred Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, and Mila Kunis.
ABOUT THE BOOK OF ELI
Details on the prequel series are minimal, but the series is expected to take place 30 years before the film. This places the series around the same time as the nuclear catastrophe that was the backdrop for the film. In the film, Washington starred as Eli, a nomad who travels across a post-apocalyptic America while protecting a sacred book.
