Saxon continue to rock. Like clockwork, the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band is releasing a new album titled Hell, Fire, And Damnation later this week. To celebrate the occasion, Saxon have put out a music video for the track “There’s Something In Roswell”. For those who haven’t listened to Saxon in a long time, it captures everything about their modern era in one track. You get Biff Byford snarling over some truly heavy riffs.
Check out the song here:
As for the track, here’s how Saxon describes it.
The track is about the enigmatic events surrounding the 1947 crash of an assumed Army weather balloon in Roswell New Mexico, referred to as ‘The Roswell incident’. “It’s such a great story. It’s been around for years and years, and it’s just what the song says: there must be something in Roswell because there’s too much hoorah about it still”, lead singer and founder-member Biff Byford explains. “I like the tune as well, I think it harks back to ‘80s Saxon musically, a really good bridge between the classic ‘Dallas 1 PM’ era and ‘Saxon 2023.’”
They’re hitting the road to support Hell, Fire And Damnation starting with a tour of the UK with Judas Priest and Uriah Heep before heading out to Europe, and then the US later in the spring. Saxon previously released “Hell, Fire and Damnation” the title track for the album, and that’s another hell of a track that shows off how Saxon can change, but also stay familiar for their fans. If you need some killer riffs and some of the best vocals in heavy metal, Saxon is your band.
Hell, Fire and Damnation releases wherever you get music on January 19th.
