Kingdom season 5 is all set to become the latest season of this hit anime. This epic historical military anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yasuhisa Hara didn’t get critical acclaim for nothing, which explains the hordes of fans awaiting this fifth season. Alas though, we’re going to have to wait just a bit longer for that season 5 of the anime. After all, Japan is still dealing with the aftereffects of a magnitude 7.5 earthquake as of this writing.
Kingdom Season 5: Premiere Delay Details
On their official Twitter profile, Kingdom just posted a Tweet revealing that the premiere of Ep. 1 will be delayed. All because of that January 1, 2024 earthquake disrupting TV broadcast schedules. You know, because NHK want to broadcast earthquake coverage to save people’s lives instead? Yeah, as important as Kingdom season 5 is to fans, saving lives is just a bit more important than any anime.
Previously, Kingdom season 5 Ep. 1 had a premiere date of January 6, 2024. Now though, the earthquake has officially delayed that premiere to January 13, 2024. Admittedly, this means that the release date has only moved a week later. It’s not the end of the world here. It’s just taking an additional 7 days before fans can finally watch that premiere episode. All we can do though is hope that there are no more delays than this. Although with how powerful that earthquake was, well, better cross your fingers.
Tune back in to THS later to find out more news about Kingdom season 5 and other anime series when we hear about them.
In the meantime though, while you’re waiting for season 5, you can check out the previous 4 seasons of Kingdom on Crunchyroll.
