For every Whovian eagerly awaiting the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate, get ready for some good news. Disney+, the new home for Doctor Who in the US, revealed new details about the upcoming 60th anniversary specials today.

First up, we have a teaser featuring new footage from the specials. Check it out below:

In addition to the teaser, Disney+ also finally revealed the premiere dates for the specials. As many fans anticipated, the first special will air close to the show’s 60th anniversary, debuting “The Star Beast” on November 25. The following two specials will air on the following Saturdays, with “Wild Blue Yonder” on December 2 and “The Giggle” on December 9.

Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary specials will see Tennant reprise his role as the Doctor, with Tate also reprising her character Donna Temple-Noble. Tennant and Tate headlined season 3 of Doctor Who’s revival back in 2007. During their return to screen, they’ll face off against the Toymaker, played by Neil Patrick Harris.

Additional actors confirmed for the special include returning cast members Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble, Karl Collins as Shaun Temple, and Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. New cast for the specials include Yasmin Finney as Rose Temple-Noble, Miriam Margolyes as the voice of the Meep, and Ruth Madeley as Shirley Anne Bingham.

The anniversary specials are helmed by returning showrunner Russell T. Davies, who oversaw the show’s return back in 2005. Davies wrote the upcoming specials and will return to Doctor Who as showrunner for its upcoming 14th season.

The 60th anniversary specials are also expected to introduce the next Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa. Gatwa will lead this year’s festive Doctor Who specials before leading season 14 in 2024.
