The Toxic Avenger is making a grand return to cinemas with a remake that looks like it’s keeping the same gross, gonzo style. Legendary Pictures dropped a new trailer that shows off more of Toxie than we’ve seen yet. Check it out below!
Macon Blair writes and directs this remake of the classic Troma film from Lloyd Kaufman.
The Toxic Avenger stars Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, Kevin Bacon, and Taylour Page. We get a look at the janitor’s mop and some purple-ish details around his head. We’ll have to wait until the full movie to get a better look. But this is a good start. Macon Blair also wrote the script for the film and it’s been a pretty highly anticipated project for Troma fans and horror fans. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 21st, but doesn’t have a full release date outside of that. It should be shortly after.
There’s also a screening at Beyond Fest here in Los Angeles on September 30th.
We’ll have to see how the film turns out with general audiences.
