Gundam Breaker Battlogue is a very little-known Gundam anime series. In fact, I would hesitate to even call it a full anime series. It’s more of an original net animation (ONA) comprising just 6 episodes in total, with each episode lasting the typical 24 minutes. All to promote the Gundam Breaker series of video games to boot, which is also very little-known outside Japan. Long story short: it’s basically a fighting game for Gundam fans. With a focus on kitbashing Gunpla models to make the best mix-and-match Gundam to boot. As you can see: a very niche video game.

So imagine my surprise when I just heard about this Gundam Breaker Battlogue: New Build graphic novel from Legendary Comics. It’s apparently a sequel to the anime. Or at least, it will be once its Kickstarter gets enough funds. Don’t believe me? Then why not read on below, and let’s find out more about it together, shall we?

Very artsy cover art here.

Legendary Comics and Kickstarter are proud to announce the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for Gundam Breaker Battlogue: New Build. This is a graphic novel sequel to the 2021 Gundam Breaker Battlogue ONA, and the very first Gundam graphic novel to be made outside Japan to boot. Nobuo Masuda (Cowboy Bebop) is the writer behind this graphic novel, with Nelson Daniel (Detective Pikachu graphic novel, Pacific Rim Blackout) as the artist.

The Kickstarter campaign for Gundam Breaker Battlogue: New Build began on August 23, 2023; and will run until September 22, 2023. As of this writing, the campaign has amassed $11,220 from 99 backers of its $80,000 goal. Legendary Comics though will only be published if this campaign reaches its goal in an “all or nothing” kind of deal. If you want to help fund this graphic novel, then you can do so at its Kickstarter page.

Bonus: Page Proofs
