What’s better than an Agatha Christie mystery? An Agatha Christie mystery that also has ghosts! Today we have a new behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming feature A Haunting in Venice.
Based on Christie’s supernatural thriller, the film sees Kenneth Branagh return as Detective Hercule Poirot. Check out the clip below to see Branagh and the other stars of the film discuss making Haunting in Venice.
Set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, A Haunting in Venice features the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
In addition to Branagh, the film also stars Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Michelle Yeoh. You can get a closer glimpse at the extended cast in the new character posters below.
As with his previous outings as Poirot (Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile), Branagh also directs A Haunting in Venice. The screenplay comes from Oscar nominee Michael Green, based on Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party.
A Haunting in Venice premieres exclusively in theaters September 15.
