AppleTV+ drops its trailer for its new limited series, The Crowded Room. The series takes place in 1979 and stars an almost unrecognizable Tom Holland (Spiderman) as Danny Sullivan. Danny is arrested after his involvement in a shooting in New York City. The story is told through a series of interviews with interrogator Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried). So, through her, we learn about Danny’s life and the mysterious parts that shaped him into the man he became.

While the series is not based on a true story, it does seem to be inspired by one: real-life convict Billy Milligan. Milligan was the subject of a highly publicized court case in Ohio in the late ’70s.
