As it turns out, One Piece has had a series of concerts for it simply titled One Piece Music Symphony. Unfortunately, these orchestras have been Japan-only affairs for a while. That is, until now. Now it seems, licensors have finally seen sense, and are letting these concerts set sail for the NA region. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out their trailer for yourself below, and revel in a classical remix of the opening theme music that started it all?
One Piece Goes Classical?
Anime News Network is proud to announce that One Piece Music Symphony is finally going to dock at NA shores for the first time in its history via that trailer above on YouTube. Said trailer gives us a taste of what they’re going to play at their NA concerts and boy, is it quite the taste. Fans of One Piece from the very beginning might recognize the tune they’re playing as “We Are!” by Hiroshi Kitadani. You can bet that they’re playing that song purely for the nostalgia value. As a One Piece fan myself, I can confirm that it is indeed working in the nostalgia department.
As for when we’ll get to see a classical orchestra playing One Piece music? Well, the very end of that trailer reveals that the One Piece Music Symphony will make NA landfall on 2 dates. The first date is July 5, 2023 in Dallas, Texas; while the second date is July 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. You can purchase tickets for the Dallas concert here, or if you want to attend the Los Angeles concert then you can purchase those tickets here. Regardless of which concert you attend, if you’re a One Piece fan, then this might be the concert for you.
