So, it’s cancelation season, and it seems Disney+ is ready to hand out more bad news. According to Deadline, the streaming service has also chosen not to renew its National Treasure: Edge of History series. This makes another young adult series that hit the chopping block.

The series joins the long list that hit the chopping block earlier this year. Disney+ has also canceled Big ShotThe Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Diary of A Future President, Turner & Hooch, as well as Mysterious Benedict Society. The streaming services seem to be putting more focus on their Marvel and Star Wars series which are doing the best for them at the moment.

WHAT IS NATIONAL TREASURE: EDGE OF HISTORY

National Treasure: Edge of History

National Treasure: Edge of History is focused on a young woman named Jess (Lisette Olivera). Jess is a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer. She embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about her family’s mysterious past. Not to mention, also save a lost Pan-American treasure.

In addition to Olivera, the series also stars Zuri Reed (“Flatbush Misdemeanors”) as Tasha, Antonio Cipriano (“Jagged Little Pill” on Broadway) as Oren, Jordan Rodrigues (“Lady Bird”) as Ethan, Jake Austin Walker (“Rectify”) as Liam, Catherine Zeta-Jones (“Chicago”) as Billie, and Lyndon Smith (“Parenthood”) as FBI Agent Ross.

National Treasure: Edge of History was executive produced by the film’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Jon Turteltaub, and written by Marianne and Cormac Wibberley.

Personally, I don’t love that Disney+ is canceling all their young adult content. Not everyone wants to watch superhero and star wars television. They need to leave something for the rest of us to enjoy.
