Robert Eggers’ highly-anticipated movie Nosferatu has begun filming and they’ve also added a hot commodity in Hollywood to the cast. Aaron Taylor-Johnson has joined the cast alongside Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson. Eggers wrote and directed Nosferatu. It’s a new interpretation of the classic and first vampire film.

Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.

Taylor-Johnson can be seen in the upcoming Sony Pictures Marvel film Kraven The Hunter and The Fall Guy from director David Leitch.

Nosferatu is filming in Prague and is a retelling of the 1922 classic by director F.W. Murnau. It was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker‘s Dracula.

Jeff Robinov, who originally developed Eggers’ remake at his Studio 8 banner, will produce along with John Graham, Eggers, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus. Earlier remakes of the Dracula tale loosely based on Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel include Werner Herzog’s 1979 pic Nosferatu the Vampyre.
