Nickelodeon and Paramount+ are bringing back Zoey 101. The streamer is bringing a sequel movie to the Nickelodeon series starring Jamie Lynn Spears to their platform. Jamie Lynn Spears will reprise her role as Zoey alongside original cast members Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore.

The original series focused on Zoey and her times at Pacific Coast Academy. The sequel, Zoey 102, will bring the cast back together for a wedding in the present day. Production is underway in North Carolina. The movie is set to premiere later this year on Paramount+.

Here’s what Jamie Lynn Spears had to say about the upcoming movie.

I’m beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love. As an executive producer, it’s been an exciting opportunity to work with such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon,

Zoey 101 ran for four seasons from 2005-2008. It was one of Nickelodeon’s highest-rated live-action series at the time. The series is the second that’s gotten a new sequel from that period of Nickelodeon following iCarly‘s revival on the streaming service. One cast member who won’t be returning is Alexa Nikolas. She staged a protest outside Nickelodeon’s headquarters in support of child sexual abuse survivors, claiming that the studio “didn’t protect me”.

Producer and creator of Zoey 101 Dan Schneider has seen allegations of child abuse, giving alcohol to minors, among other issues.

We’ll have to see how Zoey 102 turns out when it releases later this year.
