Mike Flanagan‘s relationship with Netflix has produced some of the best TV over the past couple of years. It’s given us shows like The Haunting Of Hill House, The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club. Now, according to Deadline, Intrepid Pictures (Trevor Macy and Flanagan) are heading to Amazon Studios on a new deal.
The deal is an exclusive multiyear series deal that comes as their previous deal with Netflix ends. According to the release, “the duo will develop and produce projects via their Intrepid Pictures company, which will exclusively stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.”
Here’s what Vernon Sanders Head of Global Television at Amazon Studios had to say about the deal.
Mike and Trevor are remarkable at telling immersive, suspenseful stories that masterfully keep audiences engaged from start to finish. We are excited to welcome them to Amazon Studios and are looking forward to our global customers experiencing their genre-bending creativity.
Flanagan and Macy had this to say about the new deal.
Amazon is a studio that we have long admired. Their commitment to engaging in groundbreaking series and content aligns with the ethos of what we have built at Intrepid. We are looking forward to working with the entire Amazon team as we bring our brand of genre productions to the service and audiences around the globe.
However, there is still one show left on Flanagan and Macy’s deal with Netflix, The Fall of the House of Usher, a brand new series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. That series is due out in 2023.
