The Last Manhunt, the upcoming Western starring Jason Momoa, has debuted its new trailer. The movie, as the trailer points out, is based on a true story from the oral history of the Chemehuevi tribe of California. In addition to Momoa, the film stars Martin Sensmeier as Willie Boy and Mainei Kinimaka as Carlota. The Last Manhunt follows the young couple as they are forced to flee their home. With a band of lawmen after the couple, the trailer showcases plenty of gunfights and action. The Last Manhunt will premiere in Theatres, Digital, and On Demand on November 18.

ABOUT THE LAST MANHUNT

Based on true events in the early 1900s Wild West, Willie Boy falls in love with Carlota from the Chemehuevi tribe despite being forbidden to be together. Due to her father’s refusal to give his blessing to the pair and the conflict between the two families, a fatal incident forces the young couple to flee the only place they know as home. In this tragic tale of love, loss, and realization, Willie Boy and Carlota fight to persevere even with all odds against them.

The film includes several Native Americans as part of the cast, a welcome choice, with the story based on a true story of the Chemehuevi tribe. In addition to Sensmeier and Kinimaka, the cast features, Zach McClarnon (Dark Winds), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) as Carlota’s mother, Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Brandon Oakes (Togo), and Tantoo Cardinal (Dances with Wolves).

Rounding out the rest of the cast, The Last Manhunt includes Wade Williams (The Dark Knight Rises), Jamie Sives (Chernobyl), Justin Campbell (The Hurt Locker), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Charlie Brumbly (Baywatch), Amy Seimetz (Pet Sematary). Director Christian Camargo also plays the part of a sheriff. Momoa helped co-write the script along with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
