Fast and the Furious could use some more star power. The tenth film in the franchise is on its way and is getting one of the biggest action stars in the world. According to THR, Jason Momoa is in advanced talks to star in the film opposite Vin Diesel. Plot details are quiet, but it’s said that he could be the film’s central villain. Justin Lin returns as the director alongside the normal franchise stars in Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Sung Kang. Charlize Theron returns to the cast as well.

The high-profile feud between Dwayne Johnson and Diesel necessitated some other star power in the tenth F&F film. Jason Momoa was originally courted by Johnson to be his brother in the excellent Hobbs and Shaw. Fast and Furious has stayed relevant by amping up the stunts, action, and star-power in the series. It’s quickly becoming adjacent to the Expendables franchise with all the stars that they’ve brought in. From John Cena to Kurt Russell to Helen Mirren, the series has seen big star after big star. However, Fast 9 stumbled a bit on itself.

The tenth entry in the franchise needs to return to form. It shoots this spring and comes out May 19th, 2023.
