If new reports are to be believed, it appears the long-awaited Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel has a title. Of course, there has not been an official announcement, so take the appropriate level of skepticism. The report comes to us from video game industry reporter, Jeff Grubb, who revealed the name in his video series Grubbsnax with Giant Bomb. The original game was released in 2019 and was a hit for EA and Respawn. Fans of the game have been anxiously awaiting news on the expected sequel, and it appears we might finally be getting some news.
JEDI: FALLEN ORDER SEQUEL TITLE
According to Grubb, the sequel will be called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. He did not elaborate on why the name was chosen or any other details behind the title. Grubb did indicate that EA is only planning to release the game on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This is not a big surprise, as the game will be released a few years into the current console generation. However, with the issues with distribution during this console cycle, there might be some fans left without a way to play the game.
Grubb also indicates that the game will not be released until 2023. EA had previously stated that it was planning to release a partner title in the first quarter of 2023. If that statement is alluding to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, then we might be expecting to see it sometime between January and March of next year.
With Star Wars Celebration taking place in a few weeks, hopefully, there will be a more official announcement and additional details on the sequel. This would also be in line with the detailed reveal that occurred for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at Star Wars Celebration that year.
