Prime Video recently announced that the next series from Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty will premiere on June 17th! And now, Prime video has dropped a teaser trailer and First Look Images!
The Summer I Turned Pretty is a multigenerational coming-of-age drama by author Jenny Han. Isabel “Belly” Conklin (the series protagonist) is the daughter of Laurel and the younger sister of Steven. She is a headstrong young girl, who is equally as fragile. While she has had a lifelong crush on Conrad, Belly finds herself developing feelings for his brother, Jeremiah. Giving the series an intense love triangle. This coming-of-age story is about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer.
The series stars Lola Tung as Belly, Jackie Chung, Christopher Briney as Conrad, and Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah. Round out the rest of the cast are Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso, and Minnie Mills, with Colin Ferguson and Tom Everett Scott.
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY TEASER!
The teaser is set “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” by Taylor Swift from her album 1989. We see Belly greet Jeremiah and Conrad, brothers who are two points in this triangle. Teasing Belly, Jeremiah says, “I liked you better with glasses”. To which I love her retort, “Too bad, I like me better without them”
Then, we see flashes of them as kids playing in the pool. Flashing forward to how it all resembles now, but somehow different. Finally, after seeing Conrad and Belly running on the beach we see a flash of Jeremiah face to face with Belly. This is more than enough to get me excited!
