Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to when it comes to shows on Disney+. From Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor to Ahsoka and The Mandalorian there is no shortage of Star Wars content. But there is one show that still has been a mystery to everyone and that is The Acolyte. So far we know that this series is being developed by Leslye Headland and will focus on the emergence of Dark Side powers during the final days of the High Republic Era. Well, now there seem to be a few more details being reported by The Illuminerdi on this mysterious series.
The Acolyte
So far just like most Star Wars projects, there has been very little released about The Acolyte. But thanks to our friends over at The Illuminerdi we just might have learned some more about the series today. In an exclusive report, they have revealed two new character descriptions and the production start date.
“We here at The Illuminerdi broke the news of Amandla Stenberg’s involvement in The Acolyte with the actor set to play the mysterious lead, Aura. We’ve continued scouring for information about this mysterious Star Wars series and have now discovered intriguing details about two new characters, Paul and Miri.
Lucasfilm looking to cast a Caucasian man in his 50s to play Paul and while we haven’t been able to find too many details about this character we have learned that Paul will be a series regular and as of now it seems this is a character that will only be a part of the series for one season.
Lucasfilm is looking to cast a young Black girl to portray 8-10 years old to play Miri. Miri is described as a Lead Guest Star and interestingly it seems Lucasfilm might be looking for identical twins.
Last year The Acolyte was reportedly scheduled to begin filming early this year, but it seems things may have changed. According to our sources, The Acolyte is now scheduled to begin production in October of this year and expected to wrap by May 2023.”
Now, none of this has been confirmed by Disney so please take everything you read here with a grain of salt. Until it is confirmed, i will keep this story filed under the rumor watch file.
