Director Zack Synder has given fans a first look at the set of his sci-fi epic Rebel Moon. The director shared the photos on his Twitter page. The images provide a look at the landing ramp of a starship and also a look at actor Djimon Hounsou in full costume. In addition to Hounsou, Rebel Moon features a star-studded ensemble cast. Including, Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Doona Bae, Jena Malone, Ray Fisher, Rupert Friend, Stuart Martin, Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Alfonso Herrera.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT ‘REBEL MOON’

Rebel Moon began its life as a Star Wars pitch several years ago, before morphing into its own original universe. Production is currently underway and is set to wrap by the end of this year. The current plan for the film is to split it into two parts, with the potential for additional spin-offs to expand on the universe. The film is being co-written by Synder, Shay Hatten, and Kurt Johnstad.

The synopsis for the film indicates viewers should expect an action-packed, planet-spanning epic.

“A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.”

Synder has never been shy about interacting and sharing information with fans. The director previously shared concept art as well as casting news on his Twitter account, so there will surely be more news and photos to come. Be sure to come back to the ThatHashtagShow as new details emerge.
