Riverdale fans might have a new favorite DC film. According to our friends at The Wrap, The Wonder Twins has found its Zan and Jayna with KJ Apa and 1883 star Isabel May. Adam Sztykiel is set to write and direct the project. Apa is best known for portraying Archie Andrews in the series Riverdale. May found her stardom with the Paramount+ spinoff series 1883.

The property hasn’t seen a live-action adaptation in movies, but it follows twin aliens named Zan and Jayna. Jayna can turn into any animal with her powers and Zan can turn into water. The film starts production on July 5th, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. Most people know them from their appearances in Hanna Barbera cartoons like The All-New Super Friends Hour. The characters are going from the butts of jokes to the big screen.

The tone sounds like it could be more of a comedic romp like Shazam. We’ll have to see when it releases on HBO Max at some point. The Wonder Twins doesn’t have a release date currently.
