After nearly a six-year hiatus Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley has returned to social media. Some may remember Ridley deleted her Instagram account in August of 2016 after non-stop harassment and verbal abuse. Well on Monday she posted to her over 36 thousand followers that she was “coming out of social media hibernation.”

Some may remember back in early 2021 Daisy Ridley in an interview with S Moda said she had thought about making a return to social but at that time said she will not return.
“I don’t want to go back, but sometimes I think about it. For example, while we were taking the photos for this report I thought that it had been something very beautiful. There was a great connection with the team and at the end we hugged and danced while filming a video. I thought that was really cool content to share. But the truth is that no, I will not return.”
I for one am glad to see her back and ready to connect with her fans. Let’s hope we see more follow in Ridley’s footsteps, like Kelly Marie Tran and the many others who shut it down after being attacked by toxic fans.
