I Am Legend was released back in 2007, but it seems like Warner Bros. isn’t done with the franchise. According to Deadline, not only is Will Smith coming back for a sequel, but they’re adding Michael B. Jordan to the film. This’ll be the first time that both stars are performing in a film together. In addition to their starring roles, they’ll also both be producers on the film.
Plot details aren’t known at this time, but they’ll likely come to light as we get closer to filming.
Oscar-winning writer Akiva Goldsman, who wrote the first film, is also coming back to write the screenplay for the sequel. The project doesn’t have a director attached yet.
The original I Am Legend finished its theatrical run with a haul of $585.4M worldwide.
Will Smith shared this post from his Instagram about the news.
So, what do you think of the new I Am Legend sequel?
