The documentary that took the world by storm is getting a limited series retelling of the events with Joe vs Carole on Peacock. Today, we finally get to see a trailer!
JOE VS CAROLE
Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin’s rivalry came into everyone’s living rooms at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. The Netflix documentary Tiger King had everyone talking about this wild world of exotic pets. Everyone was singing the viral Carole Baskins songs. We could not get enough of these two larger-than-life characters.
And now, Peacock is taking our obsession a step further. Based on the Wondery podcast, Joe Exotic, hosted and reported by Robert Moor, the limited series centers on Carole Baskins who learns that a fellow exotic animal lover, Joe “exotic”, is breeding and using big cats for profit. She sets out to shut him down for good. However, their relationship quickly becomes a dangerous rivalry. As we learned in the documentary and the podcast, Joe and Carole’s rivalry that’s led to jail time and death threats. In the limited series, Joe vs Carole we can see a reenactment of these events.
The series stars Kate McKinnon (The Spy Who Dumped Me) as Carole and John Cameron Mitchell (Shrill) as Joe. This trailer reminds us that we only know part of the story behind this epic rivalry. As well as the lengths they’ll go to take each other down.
