The first half of Season 2 of The World According To Jeff Goldblum is here, and it’s just as wonderful, weird, and wacky as season one.

The World According To Jeff Goldblum Season 2

Similar to season one each 30 minute episode centers around one beloved topic that Jeff Goldblum explores with the help of science, history, people, ideas and life experience. The inside of Jeff Goldblum’s mind is a curious thing. Thanks to Disney+ and National Geographic we get a first-hand glimpse into Jeff’s stream of consciousness. While his thoughts do not always hit the mark, Jeff is definitely insightful and entertaining to watch.

What makes Season 2 so great?

With more fantastical themes than season one, this first half of season two finds us exploring Magic, Monsters, Dogs, Fireworks, and Dance (listed here in no particular order). Each episode feels like an outing with your best friend, Jeff Goldblum, filled with humor, whimsy, and wonder. It’s so surprisingly joyful, that the educational nuggets thrown into each episode almost pass you by. As in, blink and you might miss it.

Season 2 has also fixed the pacing issue of season one to find the series overall flow, tone, and style. Adding in a mix of fantastical themes like ‘Magic’ with more concrete subjects like ‘Dogs’ has helped this series find the perfect balance of whim and knowledge. There’s even a light sense of cohesiveness as you move from episode to episode.

FIXING THE ISSUES OF SEASON ONE

The best part is that Jeff does not explore any of these topics traditionally, or in any sort of expected manner. For example, the ‘Dance’ episode features a discussion about animals (among other things), and never even touches on the origins of ballet. This fresh approach to each topic provides even the most well-versed viewer a unique and delightful educational experience.
Now that this series has found its footing, the endless range of potential topics to come is riveting.

The first five episodes of Season 2 will launch on Disney+ beginning Friday, November 12th, with the second half of the season made available to stream in early 2022. Make sure to come back to That Hashtag Show for all your future Disney+ news!
