For some, October ushers in scares. But for others, it’s time for laughs.

And you can laugh with the best of them October 5, when Netflix drops Dave Chappelle’s new special. Get a taste of The Closer in the preview clip below.

The Closer marks Chappelle’s sixth stand up special on Netflix. It’s also the comedian’s final special in his Netflix series. (Hence the name, presumably.)

Chappelle’s previous specials include The Age of Spin, Deep in the Heart of Texas, Equanimity, The Bird of Revelation, and Sticks & Stones. Three of those specials even earned Chappelle Emmy awards. (Chappelle has five Emmys overall. He won the other two for hosting Saturday Night Live.)

Emmy award-winning director Stan Lathan returns to direct The Closer; he directed all six of Chappelle’s Netflix specials.

In addition to his Emmy wins, Chappelle scored three Grammy awards for his specials. In 2019, he also received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

The Closer premieres globally on Netflix October 5.
