Field Of Dreams is a classic movie starring Kevin Costner about the love of baseball and what it can do for people. Now, Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming service has a new series based on the film coming. The company announced a straight-to-series order for Field of Dreams from executive producer Michael Schur. Schur is also writing the series.

President of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Lisa Katz had this to say about the series:

Through the years, ‘Field of Dreams’ has remained a fan favorite, maintaining its rightful position in the zeitgeist. It’s whimsical and grounded, a space where Mike Schur excels, and we’re looking forward to bringing a new version of this classic to Peacock.

The film is streaming now on Peacock as well. This is surely in response to the MASSIVE ratings that the Field of Dreams game pulled on Fox. That game, between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees was the most watched MLB regular season game since 2005. It pulled almost 6 million viewers.

That’s all the information we have about the series at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated on this as it develops.
