If you didn’t know, Rob Zombie is rebooting The Munsters for a film. Some have gone a bit mad thinking about what Rob Zombie could do to the classic TV family. Well, seeing as how he’s a gargantuan fan of it, he’s probably going to remain faithful to the series tone. Unless of course, he does what he did with Halloween. Then we could be in for some trouble.
But over on his Facebook, he posted blueprints for the Munsters house with the caption:
The blueprints are finished. Time to rebuild the Munsters house back to it’s 1964 glory.
That doesn’t scream gritty reboot to me.
There’s already two cast members confirmed for the movie: Sheri Moon Zombie and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Lily and Herman Munster. In addition to those two, Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, and Richard Brake are on for major roles. Finally, Cassandra Peterson AKA Elvira is on for a role as well.
Zombie is writing and directing the film, but there’s no release date currently.
The Munsters is streaming on Peacock, so if you need to refresh your memory, check it out there.
