*WARNING* THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH EPISODE FOUR “CORNERED”

This week gave us the fourth episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, entitled “Cornered”. Not only do we continue to see problems arise for Clone Force 99, but we also get our first look at a younger Fennec Shand, who we all were introduced to in the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Could the “Cornered” live up to the previous week’s episode “Replacements,” or will it leave us with that filler episode feeling?

Star Wars: The Bad Batch “Cornered”

Supplies And Hopes Are Low For Clone Force 99

Clone Force 99 is still on the run but even after getting their ship fixed the problems keep mounting. While looking for a place that they can lay low, The Bad Batch realizes that if they want to keep going not only do they need to resupply but they also have to change their ship’s signature so they are not easily tracked down by the Empire. With not many options left they head to the planet of Pantora.

Once there we quickly learn that the Empire’s take over was moving faster than they thought. To push their propaganda about the war being over, the Empire had a parade of clone troopers marching through the city as the inhabitants cheered and wave. Hunter, Echo, and Omega set out for a supply run. With not much to offer for credits, Hunter comes up with a plan that Echo isn’t too happy about. The plan seems to work but Omega gets separated from the group and that’s when things get interesting.

Fennec Shand Is On The Hunt

Alerted by a tip, a hunter heads to Pantora to retrieve Omega. Even though she is never mentioned by name (kind of like the first time we saw Boba Fett), you knew it was Fennec Shand. Lost in the Pantora market place Omega runs into Fennec and not knowing any better thinks Fennec is being nice and will help her find Hunter and Echo. Well, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what happens next. Hunter tracks them down and you soon learn that Fennec does not care who gets in her way or what happens to them. The biggest thing from all this that is not answered is who sent her to track down Omega?

My Final Thoughts On The Bad Batch “Cornered”

While this episode was not as excited as the last, it had a lot of exciting and important moments. We see more of how quickly the Empire is taking over and implementing their chain code innovative. The biggest thing from this episode is why is Omega so important and who sent Fennec Shand to track her down. Also, as I mentioned in my review of “Replacements” I still think we need to keep an eye on Wrecker, especially since he took another shot to the head. I mean it could be nothing by why did they bring so much attention to it in the last episode? So far the series has been good and has done a great job in keeping the action and questions going. I can not wait until episode 5!
