Most know eccentric film director Wes Anderson for his artistic and vibrant approach to filmmaking and directorial style. Anderson’s next anticipated film, The French Dispatch, will be his 11th feature film. His latest work was delayed numerous times with the given COVID-19 environment. In fact, it was originally was slated for July 2020 , and then again to October 2020. Now the film will finally have for its world wide premiere! It debuts at the Cannes Film Festival this coming July 6th-July 17th, 2021.

Reports claim that Wes Anderson will remain in Europe this summer. (He is headed off to Spain, around the Chinchón in southeast Madrid area). His shooting schedule will be from July to September for this next movie. From what we understand, set production bears the design of desert landscapes like in westerns. Rumor is, though, that such will not be the genre of the movie. Whatever it may be, it will become Anderson’s 12th film after the to-be-announced release date of The French Dispatch.

Wes Anderson hasn’t shot a film in the U.S. since Moonrise Kingdom (2012). That he filmed in Rhode Island. Mostly, however, Europe has been the basis, and shooting location, for the majority of his films. His 12th feature will be no different. There’s been no confirmation of casting or plot and casting details haven’t , with sources are saying it will likely consist of an ensemble from Anderson’s past films. Chinchón’s mayor Francisco Javier Martínez in speaking with an outlet for TV6 and has said, “this is very important to this city”. Worth noting the town’s cinema is very welcoming to Anderson if he ever desires to shoot there in the future.

In the meantime, we recently learned that the 20th anniversary of The Royal Tenenbaums would be a live-streamed conversation at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 13th, 2021. Wes Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anjelica Huston, and Danny Glover will all take part in the livestream. If you have have the cash, you can even rent the house from in The Royal Tenenbaums. Available for the first time in twenty-two years, it will only cost you $20,000.

Otherwise, The French Dispatch‘s delay continues indefinitely. hopefully we’ll learn of its release date as part of Disney and FOx’s upcoming slate at the Cannes Film Festival . The film takes its inspiration from The New Yorker, starring Bill Murray, Benicio Del Toro, Timothée Chalamet, Tilda Swinton and more.
