Even though Kevin Feige is dipping into a galaxy far far away, he’s not making TV there.
Star Wars previously announced Feige would helm a new film for the franchise. But don’t expect the Marvel president to get involved in all the new Star Wars series planned for Disney+.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige denied he would take on any Star Wars TV projects.
“No. That’s all Kathy Kennedy,” Feige said, referencing the LucasFilm president. “I’m involved in as much as I stay up until midnight L.A. time to watch new episodes of The Mandalorian when they drop.”
Disney announced in September of 2019 that Feige signed on to produce a Star Wars film.
“With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathleen Kennedy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars’ storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together,” said Disney CCO Alan Horn at the time.
Of course, Feige is staying busy making TV for Disney+ anyways, without touching all the upcoming Star Wars shows. The first season of WandaVision recently wrapped up, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres today. Then of course there’s Loki, What If…?, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight still to come.
So, what do you think about Feige keeping out of Star Wars TV? Is it for the best, or do you wish he would make the cross over? Let us know in the comments.
