Daisy Ridley has said that she does not intend to ever return to Star Wars as Rey. However, that doesn’t mean that she’s not interested in returning to Star Wars, period.

A laughing Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.
Heh, got you there.

In a recent interview for the April 2021 issue of Empire, Daisy Ridley expressed some interest in returning to Star Wars. Apparently, she’s now taking a “never say never” attitude with Star Wars. Ridley continues on to say, however:

I’m always open to a revisit. But also the beautiful thing is it’s this wonderful, huge universe with all of these stories that have yet to be told. I think there’s a lot of cool things to be made before any potential revisit.

Daisy Ridley Returning as Rey?

An unamused Rey.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Well, there you have it. Daisy Ridley isn’t averse to returning to Star Wars. But for now, it’s a hard pass. Ridley wants to explore other roles in other films and TV shows before even thinking about going back to a galaxy far, far away.

The big question on everyone’s mind though is: will Daisy Ridley return to play as Rey? From Ridley’s own lips, comes the answer: no. Ridley mentions that she’s basically saying goodbye to Rey for now, even though she feels that:

[I]t’ll ever feel properly like goodbye because it’s such a wonderful little web of people. It’s a really nice club to be a part of. Plus, I had such a good time. I loved my experience. In terms of revisiting the character, I think that’s a bye-bye for now.

So yeah, Daisy Ridley still feels that returning to play as Rey is a big “Nope”. You may or may not be happy to hear this, but Ridley’s word on this matter is quite final. As it has been for quite some time.

A Rey definitely saying "No".
“Not a chance there.”

Daisy Ridley basically said that she might be interested in returning to Star Wars. Just, not now. And definitely not as Rey again. Ridley has made that matter clear on a number of occasions now.
