This past December during the Disney Investor’s Meeting Star Wars fans were treated to a bunch of new content news. While we already knew that new series like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and The Bad Batch were already on their way, we also got news of new shows like Ahsoka and Lando that were joining them. We even got the Title of the first announced movie after the end of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic. But when all was said and done one name was left out from all of these projects, The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson. Well, it now seems like he may not have been left out at all.

Is Rian Johnson’s Trilogy Still On?

As you can see in the Twitter post by author Sariah Wilson, it looks like Rian Johnson still planing on doing his Star Wars Trilogy. After an interview with Johnson, Sariah Wilson tweeted:

“I’m just going to post this now because I can see that I’m going to get a lot of requests – Yes, Rian’s SW trilogy is still on. No dates or timelines because he has other projects going on, but it is happening. THAT IS ALL I KNOW ABOUT IT.”

What Are Your Thoughts?

Again please remember like it says in the title this is a rumor until we hear it from Disney. But since we still have not got an official statement from Disney saying it is not going to happen, there could be a good chance that Rian Johnson is still scheduled to develop his stand-alone trilogy. Will Johnson join Patty Jenkins and Taika Waititi with the future of Star Wars, or will they “let the past die”?
