It’s been over two decades since the Banks family first graced our screens, but now the gang’s getting back together. The cast of the Father of the Bride movies will reunite for a special mini-sequel to benefit World Central Kitchen.
Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) will premiere exclusively on Netflix’s YouTube and Facebook pages Friday, September 25 at 3pm PST/6pm EST. (Yes, you read that right – TOMORROW!)
Nancy Meyers, who wrote the original two films, will bring the cast together 25 years later for the special. If you’ve forgotten how big the cast for Father of the Bride was, allow me to remind you. Here’s who you can expect to see during Part 3 (ish):
Steve Martin as George Banks
Diane Keaton as Nina Banks
Kieran Culkin as Matty Banks
Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Annie Banks-MacKenzie
George Newbern as Bryan MacKenzie
Martin Short as Franck Eggelhoffer
The special also promises a few surprise “special guests.”
Watch the trailer for the special below.
It’s a quick teaser, but does its job. The clip revives some footage from 1991’s Father of the Bride and its 1995 sequel Father of the Bride Part II.
A few days ago, Netflix tweeted a different teaser. That clip shows George Banks’ email inbox receiving digitized photos from his daughter’s wedding.
Meyers, a longtime supporter of World Central Kitchen, organized the benefit reunion.
Founded by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen currently works to provide meals for kids and families impacted by COVID-19.
