The androids will fight another day. HBO Max just renewed its sci-fi epic Raised by Wolves for a second season.

According to the platform, the Ridley Scott-produced show has proven to be its top-performing original series.

The first season of Raised by Wolves only recently debuted on HBO Max September 3. Since then, the series apparently grew its second-week viewership by nearly 50%.

“When I think of Raised by Wolves, I think of artistry; artistry in crafting a compelling storyline, artistry in the out-of-this-world production design, special effects and cinematography, artistry in our actor’s portrayals of these memorable characters, and artistry attached to the legendary work of Ridley Scott, Aaron Guzikowski and our phenomenal crew,” said Sarah Aubrey, head of HBO Max. “This chart-topping series beautifully weaves together Ridley’s hallmarks of sci-fi and horror while offering fans one of the most original storylines they’ve seen in some time.  I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season two.”

Scott himself praised HBO Max’s advertising push for the show, saying the platform helped convey the position the series as a “must watch.” He also expressed excitement for the upcoming season.

“We are already deep into the ‘layers’ of season 2, as Aaron [Guzikowski] has begun to shape what we think will be another brilliant season to inspire the imagination,” said Scott.

Raised by Wolves follows two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. When a new colony of humans arrives, religious differences threaten to tear everyone apart.

Scott serves as executive producer on the series. He also directed the first two episodes.
