Edgar Wright’s cult classic film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is turning 10 years old. And for the 10th anniversary, the cast will be celebrating by doing a table read of the film. 

The Exes Are Back

All of your favorite exes and band mates will be reuniting once again. The cast set to appear include Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Ellen Wong, Kieran Culkin, Mark Webber, Johnny Simmons, Alison Pill, Satya Bhaba, Mae Whitman, Brandon Routh, and Jason Schwartzman. Director and writer of the film, Edgar Wright will be there too. And co-writer Michael Bacall as well as author of the graphic novels the film is based on, Bryan Lee O’Malley will join in on the fun. The table read will take place Monday, July 20th at 1:00PM ET, 10:00AM PM. 

The best part of the reunion is that it is a benefit for a good cause. The charity Water For People will be teaming up with the Scott Pilgrim crew to bring awareness to the cause. Water For People “promotes the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments.” 

Not the Reunion We Imagined

Obviously, this is not how a Scott Pilgrim reunion would have looked, but a reunion nonetheless.

Thank you, Scott Pilgrim fans! Without you, there would be no ten-year anniversary celebration. And then we wouldn’t be able to bring you Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Water Crisis, brought to you not-at-all-live from the comfort of our homes during a global pandemic quarantine shut-down. This is definitely how we imagined making this birthday.

The fans of the film and comic series are the true heart of the Scott Pilgrim universe. Scott Pilgrim was not a box office hit or has won any rewards, but the fans have catapulted the underrated film into cult classic status. There are countless memorable lines like “Bread makes you fat?” and “I gotta pee on her.” Personally, I am very excited to see Wallace again being that I am very into Succession and Kieran is perfect in that. And I guess Brie Larson is too busy to make the event? Too bad. 

The virtual Scott Pilgrim vs. the World table read is Monday, July 20th at 1:00PM ET, 10:00AM PM.
