Star Wars parodies always give us a chuckle. From “How it Should Have Ended” to “Honest Trailers” videos, there’s always someone somewhere poking just a little bit of fun at the Lucasfilm franchise. For us older folks, however, that grew up with the original Nintendo and similar game systems, the slew of remakes in retro game style are among the best. The 16 Bit Rise of Skywalker ending is definitely among them.
One of the best things about these videos is how the makers take certain… liberties with the source material. Say, for example, incorporating the images of the Jedi speaking to Rey to urge her on in the Force.
You can’t help but notice a certain Ahsoka Tano, presented as she appeared at the end of Star Wars Rebels. (Questions still swirl regarding whether or not Ahsoka lives.) The 16 Bit Rise of Skywalker clip doesn’t stop there, however.
16 Bit Rise of Skywalker is what we need
The short clip mostly depicts the final scenes on Exegol in which Rey battles Emperor Paplatine in The Rise of Skywalker. (Although, it seems it’s not THE Palpatine. Read about that HERE.) The graphics are every bit (pun intended) of what you’d expect for a 16 Bit Rise of Skywalker. But the battle scenes aren’t even the best part.
Take a close look at the cover photo above. As with the original scene in the film, it shows a slew of recognizable ships. The Millennium Falcon is present, as is the Ghost. It’s the other ships in the 16 Bit Rise of Skywalker version, though, that make it so much fun. First there is a Jedi Starfighter, and Naboo Starfighter. And then…. yes, that’s a Battlestar Galactica Viper in there too. Last but not least, of course, is none other than the starship Enterprise from that *other* sci-fi franchise.
All in all it’s a short video full of good fun. Enjoy!
