Yes, you’re reading that correctly. Owen Wilson has been cast in the Loki series on Disney Plus. ComicBook.com is reporting that Wilson has been added to the cast in a major role. This is plenty exciting for fans of the Marvel property.
Wilson is mostly known for comedic roles. Roles like Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, and Cars. This could signal that the series is going for more of a comedic tone. It’ll be his first time working with Marvel Studios. Every casting in a Marvel Disney Plus show also means that the character could turn up in the MCU also.
What Is Loki About?
The show is going to follow the version of Loki that escaped the 2012 MCU in Avengers: Endgame. It’s will also tie into the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. That film recently lost it’s director. You can read about it here. Loki is a very popular character coming out of the MCU. Tom Hiddleston will also participate in the Disney Plus show. When we know more about the show, That Hashtag Show will be the first place you’ll hear about it. Loki has a tentative release date of Spring 2021.
As for the rest of the show, we only know that it’ll follow that alternate version of Loki. The rest of the show is a mystery. If it’s anything like the other versions/showings of Loki from the MCU, then it should be a really fun ride for viewers.
