We learned yesterday that Poe Dameron will fly the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Lucasfilm didn’t stop there with new reveals, either. Just minutes ago the studio dropped another Rise of Skywalker teaser via the official Star Wars Twitter account. You can watch the video above. With the new footage we are truly getting a sense of just how epic the final Skywalker saga film will be.
In the clearest shot yet, we get definitive proof that that item Rey and Kylo Ren smashed in the last trailer is indeed the remains of Darth Vader. For a brief moment we get crisp, high definition confirmation that Vader’s mangled helmet will play a role in The Rise of Skywalker. The Rise of Skywalker teaser doesn’t end there, though.
Rise of Skywalker teaser shows epic scale of Episode IX
The new footage also seems to confirm something C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels said recently, too. Namely, it seems that we will see a battle scene in the Thieves Quarter of the snow planet KIjimi, after all. There’s a great shot of Rey poised for battle among the quarter’s narrow streets and steps.
In the latest Rise of Skywalker teaser we also get up close and personal with Kylo Ren’s repaired helmet. This gives us the best picture of it yet. And that other scene we’ve seen with Kylo Ren getting blasted by something? That blast comes from none other than the Millennium Falcon’s engines. Rey at some point finds herself aboard a Star Destroyer, and leaps from the hangar through the air to the waiting Falcon.
The short video isn’t done packing in the visuals, however. We get to see the scope of the battle with (for?) the Star Destroyer fleet, as well. There’s a lot to digest in the 30-second video, for sure. If this Rise of Skywalker teaser doesn’t get you excited for The Rise of Skywalker…..
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkeropens one month from tomorrow on December 20.
