It seems that the closer we get to The Mandalorian premiering on Disney+ next week, the more footage we keep getting. This time a new Mandalorian TV spot all but confirms an earlier rumor about the first-ever, live-action Star Wars series. We can already tell through the footage thus far that the title character gets armor upgrades as the season rolls on. Now we know how, and from whom.

One of the earlier rumors we heard had Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian attached to an enclave of his kinsmen, among whom there is a woman blacksmith forging the iconic armor of Mandalore. The latest Mandalorian TV spot not only seems to confirm that rumor, but also shows us the character as well. You can see for yourself in the video above and in the enhanced screen shot below:

Mandalorian TV spot confirms more Mandalorians

I know what you’re probably thinking. How can we definitively tell that’s a woman beneath that armor? Okay, we’ll grant you that; we can’t. Notwithstanding, we’ve seen various canon representations of Mandalorians thus far, from the films to The Clone Wars to Star Wars Rebels. The female Mandalorians generally have distinct helmets featuring a “widow’s peak” point in their faceplates. You can see that distinctively in the new Mandalorian TV spot. You can also see it clearly in both Sabine Wren’s and Bo Katan Kryze’s helmets, as well.

So, it seems our “lone gunslinger” in the outer rim isn’t going to be so alone as well. The fact that we now know there are other Mandalorians in the show also gives some credence to other rumors, as well. Listen to actor Werner Herzog’s voice-over in the second, full length trailer. He talks about the “world” being a better place after the “revolution.” Not the galaxy…. That implies that at least part of the show does indeed take place on Mandalore itself, following the revolution hinted at in Rebels. Does the new Mandalorian TV spot suggest that as well?

We’ll find out in just a few short days. The Mandalorian debuts this coming Tuesday on Disney+.
