Disney, Myths and Fables, and the EU/Legends
With the addition of these stories into canon, we could be seeing a surge in beloved Star Wars lore finally getting its due. No doubt, the EU is a messy place with multiple stories, names, people and places contradicting each other, but it could be sorted out.
Perhaps the most criticized segment of Legends is Thrawn. The first three books by Timothy Zahn—Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command—have long been regarded as some of the best EU stories ever written and never on screen. It’s possible that parts of that arc are introduced in the first trailer for Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker—namely the mysterious Sith fleet—and may become part of canon though a different route. Now if we could just get a definitive answer on what really happened to Luke’s severed hand…
So what say you, fandom? Which myths, fables, Legends and EU would you like to see introduced back into canon? What’s your favorite Star Wars stories out there? If you’re a Star Wars reader, Myths and Fables is well worth the cover price. It may yet have more clues to reveal in the future of Star Wars.
