SDCC 2019: Photo Highlights From The Her Universe Fashion Show

The Her Universe Fashion Show returned to San Diego Comic Con this year with its theme being “The Power of Fashion”! Host/Her Universe Founder Ashley Eckstein (Star Wars’ Ahsoka Tano) opened and closed the show with a one-of-a-kind, trans-formative dress. It’s design took inspiration from DreamWorks Animation’s She-Ra and the Princess of Power. 2014 Her Universe Fashion Show Winner Andrew MacLaine designed the dress. Ecksein wore custom accessories by designer Harmony Leiker.

For those unfamiliar, Eckstein created Her Universe to provide distinct, geek fashion for girls. According to its official website:

Her Universe is a groundbreaking fangirl fashion company and lifestyle brand founded by actress and entrepreneur Ashley Eckstein, whose mission is to create stylish, fashion-forward merchandise for female sci-fi fans….

[It’s]the place for fangirls to step into the spotlight and be heard, recognized and rewarded. Her Universe has joined forces with some of the biggest names in the sci-fi/fantasy world to create fangirl apparel and accessories for such well-known names as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek and Marvel. 

The show gave us a first look at some of the newest lines from Her Universe. It featured a contest with amazing fandom-related designs by over twenty contestants, as well. The show presented awards to two winners that night, the Judges Winner and the Audience Winner:

• Adria Renee was the Judges Winner for her Destination: Isla Nublar look, inspired by Jurassic Park; and
• Sarah Hambly whent home as the Audience Winner for her Bodak Green look inspired by Marvel’s Loki.
